Myth #1: You Cannot Install Solar Panels on a Metal Roof.

FALSE!

We utilize solar panel mounting systems that clamp onto the seams of the metal roof. This system eliminates the need to drill holes into your roof. Previously, we had to flash legs before installing metal panels so we could assemble the panels on them. Now, we use the mounting system, which makes solar installation quicker, reduces labor and material costs, and eliminates the worry of roof penetration and water leakage. The clamps are made of high-strength aluminum and come with a minimum 10-year warranty. They should easily outlast the life of your solar system.

Myth #2: Metal Roofs Get Extremely Hot.

FALSE!

We purchase our panels and metal coils from NuRay metals. All of our panels have a Kynar finish, and all colors are certified cool roofs with Solar Reflecting Index (SRI) ranging from 22 to 86, depending on the color. Metal roofs have high UV reflective qualities and can save you up to 25% on annual heating and cooling costs by keeping your house warm during winter and cool during summer.

Myth #3: Metal Roofs Can Be Noisy.

FALSE!

This is probably the most significant myth about metal roofs today, but it may have been true a hundred years ago. Today, the way we install metal panels is entirely different. Each panel snaps and locks onto the other, and we use underlayments and attic insulations that are much different than those used years ago. These advancements significantly reduce noise, and metal roofs will not be any noisier than other roofing materials. Therefore, you don't need to worry about metal noise during rainy weather.

Myth #4: Metal Roofs Rust.

FALSE!

The panels we use are coated with Kynar finish, which protects the paint and metal from rusting and oxidation. For houses located near the beach, we apply a second coating called OceanGuard, which extends the roof warranty from 40 to 50 years. With this new technology, your roof will last decades without rusting and requires very little maintenance.

Myth #5: Metal Roofs Are Heavyweight.

FALSE!

Some people worry that metal panels may be too heavy for their house's structure to handle. The panels we use are 24 gauge thin, lightweight, yet durable enough to last a lifetime. The panels come in widths of 12" and 16", depending on the architect's design and client preference.
